German COVID-19 Tracing App
Last week the Telekom and SAP, which both got “elected” by the German government to develop a COVID-19 tracing app, published a repository on GitHub. Initially, it contains the documentation, primarily about the architecture of the whole system. At a later stage the source-code will be added.
I am very curious how this will play out. But also I am sceptical if such an app can keep it promises. I will elaborate on this separatly in another blog post.
Planetary Health Diet
Today I was reading in the Guardian that we, the public, spend $1m each minute (!!!) to subsidize the current way of farming.
Also talked about in the article is the “Planetary Health Diet”, an initiative from eatforum.org and many collaborating scientists. They published a report, which gives insight about what is currently going on with the way we eat, what are the consequences (i.E. climate change and reduced bio diversity), and what needs to be changed to prevent those consequences.
COVID-19 tracing app
In the last few weeks several proof-of-concepts of a COVID-19 tracing app have been proposed. The Dutch goverment even conducted a hackathon, but not with promising results.
I think one of the fundamental problems is that it is not clear what the actual problem is the app should solve. As Albert Einstein once said: “If I had an hour to solve a problem I’d spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and five minutes thinking about solutions.
Yoga With Adriene
My girlfriend (Hi J 👋) motivated me to follow a YoTube Yoga class. The most popular is from Adriene. I like her friendliness and calmness while explaining what you need to do.
We are trying the 30 day Yoga challenge. However, we pick up a “Day” every other day, as I also want to keep running every other day. Hence, after two months I can tell you how we experienced the full 30 lessons, and consequently, what changed phsyically and mentally.
